About Us

The Southside Senior Citizen Club of Greenville (The Club) is sponsored by the Greenville Recreation and Parks Department (GRPD). The Senior Program Supervisor, an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors, is the Club's Advisor but with no voting power.   The Club provides an opportunity for senior citizens to participate in wholesome recreational activities, encourages fellowship among senior citizens, and provides an outlet for knowledge, skill, and interests.  Membership is open to any Greater Greenville resident age 55 or above.  For details concerning meeting information, please refer to the Events tab.

The Club is a member of The North Carolina Association of Senior Citizen Clubs, Inc. (NCASCC) and District 1A.   NCASCC is a non-profit 501(C)3 membership-based organization.   Membership in the organization is open to any club in the state of North Carolina, organized specifically for senior adults, age 55 or above, with at least six (6) officers.   Working in cooperation with the local North Carolina Parks and Recreation (Senior Program Division) and Council on Aging, NCASCC Inc. helps to organize local senior citizen clubs, assist local communities in establishing their clubs for senior citizens and acts as a vehicle to promote communication and unity among the senior citizens in the state.    It is comprised of nine (9) districts throughout the state.    Members participate in various activities that afford them to be leaders, express themselves, and continue to be active, thus not being isolated from their communities.   The activities are conducted by NCASCC, Inc. and its member Districts.   All NCASCC’s activities are charitable and aligned with its exempt purposes.   Learn more about NCASCC by visiting  https://www.ncascc.com/
